Innovative green screens

In the Netherlands this year I noticed an increase in the use of innovative green screens within the limited space available in suburban gardens.

A common screen would comprise posts at ± 2m centres with a heavy grade (150 x 150 x 7mm) weldmesh infill covered with an evergreen or deciduous climber which, if kept trimmed, could limit the thickness to ±150mm.

The light screens are being used not only for privacy but for shielding unsightly refuse areas and creating “secret” hideaways.
